JEAN AND HER MEATBALL BAKER

Jean, inventor of the Meatball Baker

In 2006, Jean, a homemaker frustrated by flat, greasy meatballs, came up with a better way — a baking pan that would let them cook evenly while draining the fat. She sent us her idea and we listened to her story and believed in her. It’s a good thing we did because we found a company that wanted her idea. That company worked closely with us to transform the idea into a product and we put an agreement together for her to get paid on each pan sold.

Thanks to her innovation, families now have a healthier way to enjoy meatballs — her pan lifts them out of the grease, allowing fat to drain away while they bake evenly. The Meatball Baker has been sold on Amazon, QVC, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Sears.

See the moment Jean discovers her invention in a real store — a dream come true:

“It’s been great – you guys are very knowledgeable. I was new to all this and I learned a lot … coming to Davison has been the experience of a lifetime.”

GARY AND RUTH'S TWISTER CAPS

Gary and Ruth - Inventors of the Twister Caps

Gary and Ruth were tidying up their home for a party when they noticed the white cap covering the toilet bolt was missing. The exposed, rusty bolt made the bathroom look dirty — even though it wasn’t. That’s when they came up with an idea: a cap that stays securely in place and never comes off.

We believed in their idea and helped bring it to life, eventually securing a licensing agreement with a company that added it to their product line. The company agreed to pay royalties on every unit sold for the life of the product. Their invention has been profitable and has appeared in major retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, Menards, and more.

“It has been an overwhelming experience. Thanks Davison.”

KIRT'S HOVER CREEPER

Kirt - Inventor of the Hover Creeper

Kirt runs a business that supplies industrial creepers to truck and automotive companies, and he wanted to improve the traditional design. If you’ve ever seen a mechanic rolling under a vehicle on a creeper, you know the frustration—wheels getting stuck on loose bolts or cracks in the floor, and the creeper sliding out of place when you’re trying to tighten something.

We believed in Kirt’s idea and helped bring it to life by removing the wheels altogether. His innovation allows the mechanic to connect a shop air hose to the creeper, letting it float on air—gliding easily over bolts and cracks. When it’s time to work, a simple turn of the handle stops the airflow, anchoring the creeper in place. Kirt’s Hover Creeper has been sold by Matco.
